Sweden’s most famous film star Ingrid Bergman was born in 1915. She loved Fjällbacka and stayed on the island of Dannholmen every summer for over 20 years. After her death in 1982 her ashes was spread around the island and a statue placed in Fjällbacka.
September , October and November is the e perfect time to go on an oyster safari with Lasse Lundberg. He owns several oyster banks that are easy to access and here you can pick your own oysters. Lasse will show you where they are and how to open them. Then eat and enjoy.
These trips cost 1000kr per hour and a two hour trip is recommended. The boat takes 10 passengers so if you are a group of 10 ist works out at 400kr per person for a two hour trip.Then you can pick and eat as many oysters as you can find!

There are several boat trips available from Fjällbacka. All boat trips departs from the central pier behind the Tourist Information. All prices are return trips.
In August we have daily seal trips, weather permitting. The boat departs at 13.00 and if the boat is fully booked we go again at 14.30. Seal trips lasts for 1 hour and costs 295SEK/person. Half price for children under 12. Booking at the Tourist Information or call 073 020 6278. Minimum 6 paying adults.
The Post Boat departs at 10.20 every weekday and delivers the post to the islands. It also takes passengers at a cost of 110SEK/person. The trip lasts for about 1.5 hour.
Booking is by calling 0708 42 14 74 before 6pm the day before.
The ferry to Valö departs daily until end of September to Valö Hotel and Restaurant. The ferry costs 100SEK/person with a 50% discount if you eat at the restaurant. The ferry takes 7-10 minutes to Valö. Booking is by calling 0525 31234.
The ferry to Väderöarna Hotel and Restaurant ( the Weather Islands) departs daily. Price depends on the season 200-400 SEK/person. The ferry takes about 30-40 minutes. 01 Booking is by calling 0525 320 01
The next big event in Fjällbacka is our Makrell Fishing Competion. It is a fun day out at sea. Last year there were over 700 participating in this not so serious event. You can read more at fjallbacka.com/makrillvm
